The Tipyn Bach Chocolate Company came into being when Alison Lindsay started creating fine, hand-made chocolates from home in October of 2004; and now she has a successful shop set in the beautiful surroundings of Bodnant Gardens.

Alison took a degree in Food and Consumer Studies whilst living in London, on returning to Wales she decided to set up her own business. She had always been interested in chocolate and its product development so looked into the possibility of setting up a hand-made chocolate company.

The shop, which opened in March 2005, in Bodnant Gardens Nurseries in Tal-y-Cafn along the Conwy valley, is open 10 until 5 each day. Alison now has a staff of four to help in the shop and with the production of the chocolates.

Throughout the year the number of customers varies but there is always passing trade thanks to the visitors to Bodnant Gardens. Alison also sells at farmers markets and food festivals; they are an excellent way to get Tipyn Bach chocolates known further afield.

The Tipyn Bach Chocolate Company are expanding and there is now a range available for wholesale.
